GOTAK is a small extracurricular after school string ensemble that began in 2005 under the direction of Melissa Meyers and a handful of orchestra students with a common interest in music. GOTAK has grown significantly since then, and always succeeds in exciting the audience with their love of “fiddling” and sounds of primarily Celtic Folk Music.

The group is open to anyone currently enrolled in the Grand Haven High School Orchestra Program. Instruments that comprise the group include: violin, viola, cello, electric bass, mandolin, banjo, and guitar. GOTAK meets once per week outside of normal class hours to rehearse.

GOTAK performs at each of the traditional orchestra concerts held throughout the school year (fall, December, spring), as well as occasional community events. They are also the proud hosts of Grand Haven's annual Irish Fest.

GOTAK is performing on St. Patrick's Day at the Grand Haven American Legion Post 28 from 6 to 8 p.m.

You can learn more about GOTAK on their Facebook Page.
