West Olive teen hurt after driving into mobile home

A 17-year-old West Olive boy is hurt after losing control of his vehicle and driving into a mobile home Friday afternoon.

A West Olive teen is recovering after driving his vehicle into a mobile home on Friday.

According to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department, the incident happened around 3:30 p.m. at Memoria and Independence drives in Park Township.

The driver, 17-year-old Joseph Chatman, was found off the roadway partially trapped underneath a mobile home at Holiday West Mobile Home Park. The trailer was lifted off the foundation, which cased a gas leak. Semco Gas Company eventually it turned off.

Chatman was injured but in stable condition after the crash. He was taken to the hospital.

Authorities say he was not wearing a seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation.
