March for Our Lives events happening in West Michigan

While more than 500,000 people are expected to demonstrate in Washington D.C. for the March for Lives, there are six marches happening locally for people who want to get involved.

On Saturday, March 24 at 12 p.m., students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School will be leading the March for Our Lives in Washington D.C. More than 500,000 people are expected to attend the national march.

The march is about ending gun violence in schools and communities.

While students and adults take to the streets in the Capitol, there are also more than 800 marches planned worldwide, several of which are taking place around West Michigan.

Here is a list of the demonstrations that are registered on the March for Our Lives website.

Grand Rapids March for Our Lives

  • When: 12 p.m.
  • Where: Rosa Parks Circle, 135 Monroe Center

Holland March for Our Lives

  • When: 11 a.m.
  • Where: Centennial Park, 250 Central Ave.

Saugatuck Douglas March for Our Lives

  • When: 11 a.m.
  • Where: Beery Field, S. Main Street

Grand Haven March for Our Lives

  • When: 12 p.m.
  • Where: Central Park, 4th and Washington Ave.

March to Support Our Scholars

  • When: 11 a.m.
  • Where: Downtown Muskegon, 550 W Western Ave.

Kalamazoo March for Our Lives

  • When: 1 p.m.
  • Where: WMU Main Campus, 1903 Western Michigan Ave.
