GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - As a way of saying “chill out,” a shaved-ice franchise will give out free cups downtown on Tax Day.

Kona Ice of West Grand Rapids will park on Pearl Street NW in Grand Rapids tomorrow — this year’s federal income tax filing deadline — as part of the company’s fifth-annual National Chill Out Day.

Damion Parker, franchisee of Kona Ice of West Grand Rapids, will park his truck at Pearl Street between Ionia and Division, between parking meters 604 and 605, from noon and 2 p.m.

During the event, Parker will offer cups of shaved ice. Each customer can choose their flavor, tropical tune and flower leis.
