Former addict, officer, employer talk to students about marijuana myths

The student event aimed to educate students about the use of marijuana.

MUSKEGON, Mich. - Muskegon County high school students were invited to "Shattering the Myths" to hear from former addict Coty Hill, Eagle Alloy Owner John Workman and former Colorado Drug Trafficking Officer Dale Quigley about the negative impacts of marijuana.

Muskegon County Prosecutor D.J. Hilson hosted the second in a series of events on Friday, April 20, at Orchard View High School.

The event aimed to educate students about the use of marijuana and featured information from a recent study regarding the impact of marijuana and alcohol on the academic performance of college students.

Shattering the Myths is grant funded by a local health prevention coalition called AMP – Alliance for Marijuana Prevention through the Lakeshore Regional Entity.
