'Still I Run' tackles mental health

"Still I Run" is a running community that rallies for mental health awareness and pushes to stop the stigma associated with mental illness.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - A local group runs to support mental health awareness.

"Still I Run" is a non-profit running community that aims to promote the benefits of running for mental health while defeating the stigma associated with mental health conditions.

The non-profit running community has two events coming up for May:

"Still I Run" will be participating at this year's River Bank Run on May 12. People are invited to join the team which is running to raise funds for Pine Rest's Patient Assistance Fund. 100% of every dollar raised goes directly to individuals and families that need mental health help. Members of the team are required to raise at least $100. As a thank you for raising money, runners get a swag bag, private gear check the day of the race, and a team t-shirt. You can sign up for the 5K, 10K, or 25K.

The second event is the 2018 #SIRunstreak for Mental Health Awareness month! Every day in May, you're invited to run (or walk) at least 1 mile for mental health awareness. You can join for free or join as a Regular or Bonus participant. For $10, you get a "Still I Run" bracelet and a custom race bib. For $25, you get a "Still I Run" bracelet, a custom race bib, and race bib fasteners. All money raised goes back into "Still I Run" which goes towards mental health awareness initiatives.
