It's Pride Month! Grand Rapids celebrates with festival on June 16

There are Pride events happening all month long.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - June is Pride Month, and there are many people celebrating the LGBTQ community all over the country. In Grand Rapids, there are events all month long to celebrate starting on June 8 and going until June 26.

The GR Pride Festival is taking place at Calder Plaza on June 16.

This year's line-up included performances from Circle Theatre, Betty Who, En Vogue and more.

This is the 30th year for the festival in Grand Rapids. All proceeds go to support the Grand Rapids Pride Center, an organization that works to empower the LGBTQ community through social and support groups, education, and advocacy. In 2017, the Pride Center served over 1,000 meals, had more than 2,500 group attendees and held 170 group meetings.
