Shooting at Allendale apartment complex injures 2 men

One of the victims refused treatment. The other has been taken to a local hospital and is expected to live.

ALLENDALE, Mich. - Ottawa County investigators have confirmed that a shooting happened at Copper Beech Townhomes near Grand Valley State University late Tuesday, June 12.

The call came in at 11:46 p.m. The investigation is centered in a parking lot outside building B near the corner of 48th Avenue and Pierce Street.

When deputies received the original call, they were told there were four victims. However, they were only able to find two. Both were men believed to be in their 20s. Both had been shot once.

One of the victims refused treatment. The other has been taken to a local hospital and is expected to live. Their names are being withheld at this time.

Deputies are looking to identify the suspect.

Copper Beech is not affiliated with Grand Valley State University, though it is the off-campus home to many students.
