UPDATE provided by deputies on Wednesday, June 13: Tayler Beard has been found and is safe.
DELTON, Mich. - Michigan State Police are asking for the public's help in finding 14-year-old Tayler Beard.
Beard was last seen at her home on South Grove Street in Delton around 4 p.m. on Monday. She had been brought home after being arrested for shoplifting at a Walmart on Gull Road in Kalamazoo County.
She was last seen by her grandfather, Donald Irving.
The 14-year-old girl did post on Facebook after she was last seen. In the post, she said, "I'm out of state, I am safe I promise and with a friend...I'll come home one day, that I promise [too]."
Police said that Beard is considered a threat to herself.
If anyone has information about Beard's whereabouts, they should call 911 or Barry County Central Dispatch at 269-948-4800.
