Second heat wave of the season begins: Heat indices flirt with triple digits

Another three-day stretch of intense heat and humidity begins Saturday.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Yet another three-day stretch of 90°+ days begins in West Michigan. This time, the humidity will really pack a punch.

Saturday through Monday, highs are expected to reach the 90s, with Father's Day Sunday being the hottest day of the stretch.

Combine those highs with dew points and heat index numbers climb into the mid 90s to even triple-digits during peak heating hours.

Saturday morning rain and storms clear out fast, opening the door for the heat and humidity to build.

Monday will be the final day with highs in the 90s expected. By the evening, rain and storms move into West Michigan along a cold front. This cold front will bring relief from the high heat and humidity through the rest of the week.
