Dads celebrate Father's Day at John Ball Zoo

Dads got in for free at the zoo today.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - This Father's Day, John Ball Zoo invited families to come check out the animals.

As an added bonus, dads got in for free with a paid child's admission.

On Sundays, the zoo is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and admission for kids ages 2-12 years old is $10.

"It gives us something to do—an incentive to get out," said Brian Eggleston, a dad who went to the zoo. "[I] wish all the dads a happy father's day, and if they're at the zoo, they can experience a great day at the zoo as a family. If not, have a great day with their fathers as well."

Eggleston also had some advice people going to the zoo today: "Try and find the shady spots at the zoo and the indoor sections...and drink lots of water."
