Four people stabbed during overnight party in Kentwood

Police believe they have everyone involved in this incident accounted for.

KENTWOOD, Mich. - Four people were stabbed after a fight at a party early Monday, June 18.

Investigators say it started outside a home on Sable Ridge Drive in the Bretonfield neighborhood, just off of 60th Street. The neighborhood is just east of Discovery Elementary School.

Around 12:45 a.m. an "unwanted person" showed up at the party and got hit in the head with a bottle. That person was taken to the hospital. Later, friends of that person showed up and that's when the fight and the stabbing broke out.

Two of the victims were treated for minor injuries. One of the four victims suffered stab wounds all over his body, including the neck. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries but he is expected to live. The fourth victim was in critical but stable condition after surgery this morning.

Police say they have two men in custody at this time. Everyone involved in the incident is accounted for. At least one neighbor was able to re-enter their home, so it is believed there is no present danger to the public.

Anyone with information about this incident should call Kentwood detectives at 616-656-6600.
