GRPS, GRCC strengthening Early/Middle College partnership

Ottawa Hills High School students can enroll in the Early/Middle College program to complete their final year of high school while simultaneously earning an associate degree.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Grand Rapids Community College and Grand Rapids Public Schools are working together to provide high school students the ability to earn college degrees.

GRCC President Bill Pink and GRPS Superintendent Teresa Weatherall Neal discussed their commitment to strengthening their collaboration at a press conference at Ottawa Hill High School on Monday, June 18.

Pink and Weatherall Neal will be joined by students enrolled in the program Early/Middle College at Ottawa Hills.

The program is a 13th-year experience that gives students an opportunity to simultaneously earn a high school diploma and an associate degree. They are dual-enrolled in high school and college courses, with tuition and fees for the college courses covered by the K-12 district's state aid.
