GRPD: Arrest made in January homicide

Police have arrested two men in connection to a January 2018 homicide.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - After thorough investigation, Grand Rapids Police Department has made an arrest in connection to the murder of Curtis Swift.

Swift was shot and killed back in January. The 26-year-old was found unconscious at a home on the city's Northwest Side. He was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police say Cameron Davon Wright, 26, is charged with open murder, a potential life offense, and felony use of a firearm. Wright is already awaiting trial for a 2013 homicide.

He was arrested in January and charged in the 2013 murder of Andre T. Davis. That case is pending in Kent County Circuit Court.

A second suspect -- 26-year-old Derek Banks -- pleaded guilty to perjury for his involvement in Swift's murder. He was sentenced last week to between 16 and 80 years in prison.
