The City of Grand Rapids is discontinuing it's partnership with the parking app, ParkMobile.
They are replacing it with a new app they are calling "MOTU." Like ParkMobile, it allows drivers to download an app and pay a parking meter from their phone.
"MOTU, which is based off the city's motto, Motu Viget, which is strength and activity, [is a] faster application and set up for our customers," explained Josh Naramore, Grand Rapids Mobile GR director.
"More importantly, it's a more localized option to make sure that the features work for our customers and not just what a national brand is saying."
The new MOTU app officially launches Thursday, June 21.
