ALPINE TOWNSHIP, Mich - Police believe alcohol played a role in a deadly crash in Kent County.
It happened at around 12 a.m Sunday, June 24th on Fruit Ridge Ave NW near 5 Mile Rd NW.
Police say a southbound Dodge Durango driven by Thomas Ybarra struck a northbound Chevrolet pickup truck towing a trailer driven by Christopher Wirgau. As a result of the crash, Elizabeth Wirgau, a passenger in the northbound vehicle, sustained fatal injuries. A passenger in the southbound vehicle was transported by ambulance to the hospital.
The crash is still under investigation.
