19-year-old sentenced for Muskegon Heights shooting

The 19-year-old man will spend between two and 10 years in prison.

MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. - Gentle Douglas-Jenkins was sentenced for his involvement at the East Park Manor apartment complex in Muskegon Heights.

Two people where injured in the shooting, including a 7-year-old boy playing with a group of children outside his apartment.

Jenkins was sentenced to between two and 10 years in prison. He pleaded guilty to assault with intent to do great bodily harm -- along with felony firearm and no content to carrying a concealed weapon.

Muskegon Heights police arrested him after he shot at -- but didn't hit -- another teen last July. Another man who fired a weapon that night is charged with the death of a bystander who was hit by a bullet.
