Police arrest two men in connection to Portage stabbing

Police have arrested two suspects in connection to the stabbing.

PORTAGE, Mich. -- The Portage Department of Public Safety has now arrested two men in connection to a stabbing.

It happened just before 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot at the Renaissance Banquet Hall on Kilgore Road.

When officers arrived they found two stabbing victims -- ages 38 and 36, both from Kalamazoo. Both were transported to Bronson Hospital where they were treated and released.

Kalamazoo resident Emilio Gallardo, 23, was arrested on Sunday. Around 11 a.m., a second suspect was also arrested in Kalamazoo.

Gallardo was charged with assault with intent to commit murder. He is also being held as a parole absconder. His bond was set at $100,000.

The second suspect, Jose Prieto, 36, was charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm. His bond was set at $50,000.
