WALKER, Mich. - Multiple municipalities are to thank for joining efforts and getting a large grass fire under control in Walker on Tuesday, Aug. 14.
Seven local fire departments responded to the blaze in the area of Wilson Avenue and Butterworth Street shortly after 2 p.m. Crews on scene told 13 ON YOUR SIDE it was under control around 3:30 p.m.
Approximately 15 acres were destroyed.
The combination of breezy conditions, very warm temperatures and extremely dry ground will lead to additional fire concerns until we get a good rain.
