PARCHMENT, Mich.- Distribution of free bottled water is changing in Parchment. The current center at the high school will be closed on Friday, Aug. 17. Water distribution at a new location will start back up Saturday.
The free water is for people dealing with PFAS contamination in the city water system that was announced last month.
According to a release from the Kalamazoo Health & Community Services Department, distribution is relocating because of the start of the upcoming school year at the high school.
Listed here are the new hours:
- Thursday, Aug. 16 Parchment High School Noon to 8 p.m.
- Friday, Aug. 17 closed
- Saturday, Aug. 18 Haven Reformed Church (5350 N. Sprinkle Rd. Kalamazoo, Mich. 2 p.m. - 7 p.m.
- New Dates & Times Moving Forward Every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at Haven Reformed Church (5350 N. Sprinkle Rd. Kalamazoo, MI 49004) 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The department added that people will still have to verify their address when they pick-up water at the new location.
