Man thankful for security system after Allegan County break in

A security system alerted law enforcement of a breaking and entering in progress in Monterey Township on Saturday.

MONTEREY TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Allegan County deputies say they arrived at a home during a breaking and entering incident.

It happened just before 8:45 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15, at a home on 28th Street, north or 134th Avenue. According to deputies, the homeowner was not home, but a surveillance system alerted him to the problem.

When deputies arrived, they found a woman hiding in a suspect's vehicle in the garage and another suspect inside the home. When given verbal instructions to leave the home, the male suspect did not. He only came out after Allegan County SWAT was called to the scene.

No one else was found inside.

Both suspects were brought to the Allegan County Sheriff's Office and held for home invasion.
