Dan and Faran put their artistic skills to the test in 13 ON YOUR SIDE ArtPrize competition

Dan Harland and Faran Fronczak went head to head showcasing their artistic talents in both painting and sculpting.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The 13 ON YOUR SIDE Mornings team launched their coverage of ArtPrize 10 from the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum Wednesday, Sept. 19, with their own version of the contest.

Dan Harland and Faran Fronczak went head to head showcasing their artistic talents in both painting and sculpting.

Jaqueline Scherer, Katie Boelman and Kelsey Tomei joined the show as judges. Jaqueline and Katie are both therapists with Arbor Circle, Kelsey is an intern. Arbor Circle has an entry in the youth collaboration category this year.

Before the critics doled out their scores for the dueling anchors, we asked them a few questions about Arbor Circle. Jaqueline explained that "Arbor Circle provides counseling and family development services to individuals and families throughout our West Michigan community.

The Family Based Services program brings counseling and support services to school-aged children where they are. So we meet with youth in schools, homes and the community."

Arbor Circle's ArtPrize entry was created by youth receiving the community based services. It's a group of masks created by youth ranging from age 5 to 17. They are all on display together at GRCC's Spectrum Theatre. Click here to learn more about the entry.

In the end the judge's scores, added together, made Faran the winner of the contest overall. Better luck next time Dan!
