GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Degage Ministries is one of the venues for ArtPrize 10.
The Helping Hands quilt by Karen Petchauer is on display in the window there on Cherry Street.
Petchauer become homeless over six years ago after she lost her job, and she stayed at Degage.
Since finding a new place to live, she has been volunteering her time at Degage and she has volunteered at ArtPrize.
The Helping Hands quilt highlights the many people that serve Degage patrons.
Degage Ministries says Petchauer is the fifth former resident to have a piece on display at the ministry during the 10 years of Art Prize.
