Students from Muskegon Heights to be honored

MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. - There's reason for celebration within Muskegon Heights Public Academy System. On Tuesday, Nov. 13, Muskegon Heights Academy will honor 46 students for their academic excellence.

These students, who are in grades 7 through 12, are performing at or above grade level on the Fall Dibels CARI (reading) and/or NWEA Math Assessment. The new data shows an increase from 8 percent to 25 percent in grades 9 through 12 reading proficiency since the fall of 2017.

Within the last year, both students and teachers at MHA have undertaken new reading and math curricula and instruction, respectively.
