GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - After a month of public voting, the City of Grand Rapids has revealed the winning design for city-owned park designs.

The winning design -- created by Steve Voelker -- had the most votes on the community-led competition on Facebook with nearly 5,000 votes. Voelker will be awarded up to $1,000 to collaborate with a licensed design professional to produce the final drawings and the new design will be used at all 75 parks throughout the Grand Rapids area.

The Parks and Recreation Department launched the design competition earlier this fall, and community members submitted more than 150 design concepts.
