GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - A Sparta Township woman has been charged with child abuse after her 3 month old was brought to the hospital with injuries consistent with shaken baby syndrome.
Heather Reiter made her first court appearance Monday, Dec. 10. The 24 year old is facing charges of both first and third degree child abuse.
Police say the infant suffered serious injuries, but is expected to survive. The original incident occurred in the 1400 Block of Glen Park N.W. in Sparta Township.
Reiter remains lodged at the Kent County Jail.
