Driver in deadly crash comes forward

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Kalamazoo Township Police say the driver in a deadly crash has come forward.

The accident happened on Gull Road near Inverness Lane shortly before 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5. Noah Mickaels, 40, from Kalamazoo was killed in the crash.

A 69-year-old Richland man contacted police on Friday, Dec. 7, saying he may have been the driver. Officers from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety performed a forensic exam on the vehicle and identified it as the one involved in the crash.

Police have not identified the driver involved. The crash is still under investigation and investigators are asking anyone that may have seen a black GMC pickup in the area around 6 p.m. to contact the Kalamazoo Township Police Department at (269) 567-7523 or Silent Observer at (269) 343-2100.
