GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — Fountain Street Church in downtown Grand Rapids officially turned 150-years old on Friday.

The church is known for being religiously liberal and non-denominational.

In the building's storied history, the likes of  Winston Churchill, Eleanor Roosevelt, Amelia Earhart, Robert Frost and Malcom X have all appeared.

Musical performers have included Dave Brubeck, Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, Frank Zappa, Grateful Dead, MC5 and Led Zepplin.

To celebrate the church released a "whimsical" video where the Ghost of Fountain Street Church tells stories about the churches' 150 years.

Fountain Street Church was founded in 1869 as Fountain Street Baptist Church. The organization dropped the denomination from its name in the early 1960s.

Events are scheduled throughout 2019 that will celebrate the anniversary. A full schedule can be found here.
