Consumers working through Monday to restore power to thousands

More than 8,000 Consumers Energy customers were without power Monday morning, following a weekend of freezing rain and snow.

More than 8,000 Michiganders were without power Monday morning, some of the hardest hit areas in West Michigan. 

Consumers Energy dispatched crews throughout the state to restore power, working more that 8,000 people to 6,352 as of 12:25 p.m. on April 15.

The two areas in West Michigan that saw the worst of it are Muskegon and Oceana counties. Other West Michigan counties without power include:

  • Ottawa
  • Kent
  • Newaygo
  • Allegan
  • Kalamazoo
  • Mecosta
