Holland man facing open murder charges after stabbing, killing ex-girlfriend

Salvador Gonzales Ruiz III was arrested earlier this week at a storage facility in Holland.

HOLLAND, Mich. - A 61-year-old Holland man faces an open murder charge after he was accused of stabbing and killing his ex-girlfriend.

According to court documents, Salvador Gonzalez Ruiz III, killed Linda Rodriguez on Tuesday, April 16. 

13 ON YOUR SIDE obtained the documents on Thursday, April 18 and learned that Ruiz was arraigned on that charge later in the afternoon. Ruiz is also facing a charge for driving without a valid license. Based on the court documents, Ruiz could spend his life in prison.

According to a previous release from the Holland Department of Public Safety, officers found 61-year-old Linda Rodriguez at her home near Holland West School suffering from multiple stab wounds early Tuesday morning. Ruiz had broken into her home by breaking the sliding glass door. 

Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene. Ruiz was arrested Tuesday afternoon at a storage facility on the south side of Holland.
