WAYLAND, Mich. - U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow will join Governor Gretchen Whitmer and the Michigan Statewide Carpenters and Millwrights Joint Apprenticeship and Training Fund for the ribbon cutting and grand opening of the Wayland Carpenters and Millwrights Skilled Training Center.

The event will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 29. The facility is located at 500 Reno Drive in Wayland.

Sen. Stabenow will speak at a news conference which will be followed by the ribbon cutting and a tour of the 67,000-square-foot facility.

Last year, Stabenow introduced her "New Skills for New Jobs" agenda, which helps get young people the skills they need for good-paying jobs.

Stabenow is also the co-chair of the bipartisan Senate Manufacturing Caucus which is focused on providing job opportunities for all Michigan workers and students.
