2 teens injured in Ottawa Co. motorcycle accident

Neither teen was licensed to drive, and the motorcycle belonged to an older brother of the driver.

OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. - Two teens were injured in a motorcycle accident in Park Township Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, both the driver and the passenger sustained injuries, but both were wearing helmets and are in stable condition.

The two teens were riding a red 1997 Honda cafe-style motorcycle, traveling northbound on Butternut Road. Police said the driver lost control and ran off the east side of the road onto the shoulder. Both the driver and the passenger were thrown from the motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle was a 14-year-old boy, and the passenger was a 15-year-old boy. Both are from the Holland area.

Neither the driver nor the passenger were licensed to drive, and the motorcycle belongs to the 14-year-old's older brother. 

The crash remains under investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.
