Holland man hospitalized after being stabbed in the neck, suspect sought

The suspect fled the area before authorities arrived.

HOLLAND, Mich. - Ottawa County Sheriff's Deputies and Holland Public Safety officers are investigating a late night stabbing in Holland that left one man in critical condition.

It happened around 10:20 p.m. on at the Bay Point apartment complex on East 16th Street near Waverly Road. 

When officers arrived on scene, they discovered the victim—a 30-year-old Holland man who lived at Bay Point—laying the grass outside one of the buildings. He was stabbed in the neck, but still conscious and able to talk with officers.

According to a release, the victim was with a few other people hanging out in his apartment when an argument lead to a physical fight. During the altercation, one person in the apartment stabbed the victim. The suspect fled the area before authorities arrived.

The victim was taken to Holland Hospital, then take to Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids. He is listed in critical condition.

Detectives are searching for the suspect, whose identity was not immediately known even after interviews with a witness and the victim.
