GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The holidays can be a hectic time between family, get togethers and everything in between. It seems we barely have time to fit everything in.
It's also the reason why there are significant blood shortages during the holiday season.
To help fill the blood banks this Holiday Season 13 On Your Side is teaming up with Versiti Blood Center of Michigan for a blood drive on Monday, December 16th, at the Grand Celebration Center on 4 Mile and Alpine from 12-6PM.
It's hard to believe that every 2 seconds, someone needs life-saving blood. But only about 10% of Americans do.
Versiti Blood Center of Michigan must collect 560 units of blood daily to supply our local hospitals with blood for emergencies and every day needs.
