Wyoming Police investigate crash involving 50 year-old man

The 50 year-old man was trying to cross 28th Street without using the crosswalk.

WYOMING, Mich. — Authorities in Wyoming are investigating a crash that hospitalized a 50-year-old man.

It happened around 8:05 a.m. Tuesday, the Wyoming Department of Public Safety said in a press release. Police said a the man was hit by a car on 28th Street, just west of the Burlingame Avenue intersection. 

The man was trying to cross 28th Street without using the cross walk when he was struck. Police said he was hit by an eastbound vehicle and taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. 

The driver is uninjured.

The eastbound right lane of 28th Street, west of Burlingame Avenue was closed down while the scene was still being investigated. It was expected to reopened by 10:30 a.m.
