The final winter storm of 2020 arrives Wednesday

A low-pressure system is set to impact Michigan in the coming days

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — A low-pressure system will track across the central United States Tuesday and arrives in West Michigan late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

This storm will bring a mixture of rain, snow, and freezing rain across the United States, resulting in hazardous weather conditions for many to round out the year in true 2020 fashion.

With temperatures forecast to be in the upper 30s to low 40s Wednesday afternoon, this storm is expected to bring snow, wintry mix, and rain to West Michigan. Arriving Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning as snow, transitioning to freezing rain / a wintry mix, then completely switching over to rainfall by the afternoon.

This pattern tends to bring a quick burst of snow, icy and slick spots on the roadways, and increased travel risks. Currently, models show anywhere from 1 to 3 inches of snow in Grand Rapids late Tuesday into early Wednesday morning.
