Podcasters from Ohio looking into November 2022 murder of West Michigan man

Just recently, podcast hosts Nic and Patrick Edwards dug into the November 2022 murder of Kane Coronado.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A true-crime podcast duo based out of Ohio hopes to shed light on unsolved murder cases with their show, True Crime Garage.

Just recently, hosts Nic and Patrick Edwards dug into the November 2022 murder of Kane Coronado.

Coronado was riding his bike on Indian Mounds Drive in Wyoming when he was shot and killed, with very few witnesses around at the time.

With no new evidence available to police, the podcast brothers decided to give the case new light.

"Somebody locally there reached out to us and said this is a case that needs a little more attention," said Nic. "We need to spread the word even beyond Grand Rapids and Wyoming, Michigan to get the right set of ears and right set of eyes on this case."

The almost hour-long podcast episode, which has 4,000 views on YouTube already, looked into the specifics of the case and the evidence available.

"We try to let the information of the case and the evidence of the case dictate how long the episode needs to be. In this case we didn't have a lot to go on," said Patrick.

The podcast, which has more than 1,000 episodes discussing cases, also used the mugshot of the suspect as the episode's thumbnail. That suspect's description and the early 2000s gray sedan that police are looking for, stand out to the two.

"I think both of them to be somewhat unique, distinct distinguishable characteristics, especially at the time," said Nic. "So from that perspective, there is hope, I believe, you know, we have the eyewitness statement, and we have police releasing this information via sketch."

Kane's aunt, Codie Coronado, spoke with 13 ON YOUR SIDE recently and said the family is thankful for the new attention, seeing that her mom and Kane's grandma Tonya died last July not knowing who murdered her grandson.

"The new podcast is just to bring it forward again, because my mom passed away and she's not here to push it no more," said Codie.

"I think people don't understand that there's never just one victim," said Patrick. "The family becomes victims, his friends become victims, the people that never are going to meet him, the people that he'll never change their lives."
